How do you feel about Gun Control and what is your stance on it?
How about a history lesson?

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981,100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and terminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australian taxpayers more than $500 million. The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 32 percent.

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent, and armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned their guns in the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the U.S. evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adver sely a ffect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens' - Without them, we are 'subjects'. During WW II the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
Reply:My father and my brothers always have had guns, so does my fiance's dad and they are all NRA members and good men.

If you give up your rights, you will not be able to fight to get them back.
Reply:I love to shoot guns. My stance is usually standing but sometimes we kneel down and then fire.

****If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words...... ha ha ha LOVE IT!!!
Reply:every american should own a gun and understand its function.
Reply:I am a proud NRA Life Member

Enough said
Reply:27. Gun control, a violation of your second amendment rights.
Reply:I think gun control is a bunch of BS.

Guns are hot!
Reply:I agree that a citizen has the right to own firearms, but it should be regulated so criminals are unable to purchase them. I also believe that there should be a restriction on the type of armaments that are available to the public, such as armor piercing bullets.
Reply:gun control is the first step towards abolishing the constitution....an armed citizenry is the governments biggest obstacle it total dominance of its citizens....I propose we set aside one Saturday a year and call it 2nd amendment appreciation day...on that day, all gun owners devote the whole day to target practice, gun safety and so on....the spectacle of millions of people out practicing with their guns would have to bring a chill to the anti gunners in congress....one more note....they might legislate gun confiscation someday...but that will be the day they will turn me into an outlaw.....I will NEVER give them up!!
Reply:I think that every man, woman, child, in all the world should possess for use a liberal variety of weapons and ammunition. If it was up to me, I would issue guns to new born infants and death row inmates, guns and ammunition. If I could I would give every man, woman, child from Adam to the last of mankind a personal big boom button connected to a 1000 megaton nuclear bomb and say, happy new year and good by. I am liberal indeed.
Reply:Guns don't kill people. People kill people: period!
Reply:I am in favor of all gun control necessary to ensure the bullet leaving the chamber is delivered without delay to the criminal's head.
Reply:#10 is the only gun control AMerica needs. As some have so astutely observed we have more laws than is needed, what we need is enforcement.

Congress needs to stop playing with the Constitution and start funding enforcement of our current laws. Illegal aliens, criminals, and on and on and on.
Reply:Amen brother, Here's more 4 you%26gt;

The 2nd Amendment holds all others in place!

Gun control=Hitting your target!

"FROM MY COLD DEAD FINGERS"

Seriously we need to teach these truths to our children, so that the fed of the future cannot rape them either!!

As a Gun owner, let me say thank you for your question!

you are not alone we are still here fighting to keep the Bill of Rights strong!!

Big Dave: We already have laws to prevent criminals from obtaining guns, they are poorly enforced, so new laws will not help!!!
Reply:Unfortunately, it does not matter how many laws you pass to control gun ownership - criminal will still get them.

Should we control automobile ownership too - more people are killed by autos than guns!

As has been said many many times before - Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Education on guns is more important than control.
Reply:I am considered a liberal and am against gun control. I believe we have and need the right to bear arms, I also believe if more states allowed concealed carry it would reduce crime since the criminals would not know who is packing.
Reply:Gun control has killed millions.

Civilian gun ownership is the "canary in the coal mine" of a government run by it's people.

A government that doesn't trust it's people with guns is a government that's not to be trusted by it's people.
Reply:I own two guns,....an S%26amp;W 9MM and a .357 Magnum snub nose. I am so against the government telling me how I can protect myself and my family. Where I live, home invasions are very popular, especially in the daytime. When perfect strangers start pounding on your door, you look out the window, and it's a couple of punks, saying they have a package for you. Through the window I told them to go away, I wasn't interested. After a number of times this happening, I knew I had to do something. Here in my state you can get 5 to 15 for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. I decided it was in my best interest to take the appropriate classes, and get the license/permit, to protect my a**, and my family, on so many levels. What's interesting, is that once you get a permit, one realizes the serious responsbilities that go along with that. Folks with permits know exactly what I am talking about. I am s-o-o-o against gun control. I'll do what I need to do, to protect my loved ones.
Reply:I just read the first few on your list and you seem to have a good idea of gun control. I have one better, without gun control I wouldn't be able to hit a target at 300 yards so I have excellent gun control, thank you.
Reply:I think every American should own a bazooka and a rocket launcher.
Reply:Gun control is knee-jerk reaction by politicians to unfortunate and tragic events (Columbine, Va Tech). No intelligent person can honestly believe that stricter control on firearms is going to do ANYTHING to curb gun related crime. Trust me intellectually dishonest people, if a someone wants a gun to commit a crime with, there is no law on earth that could stop them.

It drives me crazy that these people shout from the rooftops...."these crimes would not have been possible if we had better gun control laws" They honestly don't believe that themselves, they think the rest of us are idiots and would be frightened by their scare tactics. Its also obvious that some people really are so uneducated that they actually buy that load of crap.

Enforce the laws currently on the books..literally hundreds, and let law abiding citizens exercise their second amendment right......."the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Last time I checked....marijuana, heroin, and cocaine are illegal, and we see how well those controls are working don't we.
Reply:I own 1 rifle, 1 shotgun, and 1 handgun.
Reply:I am totally against “gun control.” That's where they make it so that only criminals can have guns and law abiding citizens cannot have a gun to protect themselves.
Reply:I do not own a gun, but I will fight to the death to keep our 2nd amendment right.
Reply:I always did wish that Charlton Heston could have been my grandpa......
Reply:Glad to see you are getting your political views from sound-bite-sized slogans. Wouldn't want to try and use research material deeper than a bumper sticker, would we?
Reply:Owning a gun is gun is a sign of intelligence, or should I say lack of it.
